A truly extraordinary leader makes a profit and leaves a mark

What defines an “extraordinary” individual?

For you, is this someone who saves lives, such as a doctor or a first responder? How about an entrepreneur who completely transforms our lives for the better, like Steve Jobs or Elon Musk? It might be something much simpler than that, like a friend or neighbor coming for you and clearing your driveway when your snowblower won’t start.

The dictionary defines the term “extraordinary” as “very unusual or remarkable”. Is not it this interesting? As you read this, does being extraordinary suddenly take on a negative connotation? He should not ! By digging deeper, the term “unusual” is defined as “not common”, which makes it special or unique.

But the way we decide what defines an extraordinary individual is extremely subjective. Yet the common thread that my anticipatory leader system brings out about those who are extraordinary is that they have gone beyond success and come to prominence in everything they do, putting a strong emphasis on emphasis on helping the common good through a business, organization, product or service. .

Jump your biggest barriers

The process of becoming extraordinary will always come with barriers and roadblocks. Some of the most amazing people in history faced incredible hardships that most others would succumb to.

For many, these barriers include age, gender, race or location, while others may have physical or mental disabilities alongside health issues. No matter how you feel on your way to an amazing life, it can be overcome using my Skip It Principle.

The cornerstone of my anticipatory leader system, the Skip It principle indicates that your problem or obstacle is not your real problem or roadblock. It’s all about perception. Consider one of those barriers mentioned in the above paragraph that has become a limiting factor for many in our time: age.

Are you too old to do anything extraordinary? The answer is simple: no, you are not. Age is a difficult trend; we are all getting older every day and there is nothing we can do to change this future certainty.

However, we can change our Perception aging process, and often our perception of aging is the real problem, not aging itself. Therefore, someone who feels too old to be extraordinary at what they are trying to accomplish may simply to jump that thought altogether!

This same principle of my Anticipatory Leader System can be applied to all of the other roadblocks mentioned above, although in different ways it is true. Are systemic problems a cause of restraint among women or those of different races? Absoutely! Does being blind make pitching in the big leagues difficult? Sure!

Importance on success

Another common thread found in extraordinary individuals is their undying desire to build a legacy around meaning instead of perceived success. Just like defining what it means to be extraordinary to you, identifying how you measure success is essential on this journey.

Much of the population assesses success by the money they have. But money comes and goes, and if this is your only measuring stick, you will feel excessive and unnecessary setbacks.

For example, many consider Elon Musk to be an extraordinary and successful person; However, not many people would feel the same if they looked at his financial history. After founding and selling PayPal, he threw his personal fortune into Tesla, which nearly went bankrupt when the first iterations of the Tesla Roadster were delayed. Then, once Tesla broke even, he founded SpaceX and almost went bankrupt. again!

Musk’s unwavering passion for the products and services he’s been a part of is rooted in another skill that I teach in my Anticipatory Leader System: to go beyond what success means to you and become important in helping the world. If Musk rooted his success in his finances, he would now be largely forgotten, or perhaps he would have thrown in the towel when Tesla floundered.

Instead, Musk’s emphasis on the importance of his businesses, such as reducing carbon emissions or space waste by inventing reusable rockets, makes him extraordinary in the eyes of many. Don’t measure your success by your finances; they always fluctuate and you will always have bills to pay. Focus on the importance of what you are doing.

Decide on your future with a state of mind of anticipation

You are in control of becoming extraordinary; however, never forget that it will take work and, along the way, you will scratch your knees. My Anticipatory Leader System is an excellent starting point for creating a framework for moving from the ordinary to the extraordinary.

Take my Hard Trend methodology, for example. What are the future certainties that the world faces that cannot be changed? Next, identify some soft trends; which are only future possibilities open to influence? Anybody can influence a Soft Trend, so why not you? Remember that if your “why not” in this equation is your age, gender, race, or any of the above barriers, these are not the real problems, so skip them!

Then, as they say, “there is nothing else to do but do it.” Be extraordinary and don’t forget to enjoy it along the way!
